GSDYPAA (Greater San Diego Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous) is a committee dedicated to serving the YPAA (Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous) community in San Diego.

 

If you want to join our committee, please come to our business meeting on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 6:00pm pacific.

  1. What is GSDYPAA?
    We are the Greater San Diego Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous (GSD-YPAA). We are a committee dedicated to serving the YPAA (Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous) community in San Diego.
     

  2. What is YPAA?
    Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous (YPAA) provides a specific space within AA for Young People to connect, share their experiences, and participate in the AA fellowship’s core principles of Recovery, Unity, and Service.
     

  3. How young is "young" in AA?
    AA defines Young People as folks under 30 years old.
     

  4. Do I have to be young to be in Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous (YPAA)?
    No! 😁 YPAA is for the young and the young at heart.
     

  5. How do I join GSDYPAA?
    Come to our next committee meeting and take a commitment! We'll find something for you if you're willing!
     

  6. Is YPAA still AA?
    Yes! We operate following the AA principles of Recovery, Unity, and Service, and are guided by the Twelve Steps, Twelve Concepts, and Twelve Traditions, -- including anonymity and self-supporting through our own contributions. YPAA operates within the broader structure of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), focusing on supporting young adults in their recovery journey.
     

  7. What are the core principles of AA?

    1. Recovery: YPAA groups center around the AA program of recovery, including the Twelve Steps, which provide a path to personal sobriety.

    2. Unity: YPAA fosters unity among young people in AA and promotes fellowship with alcoholics of all ages.

    3. Service: YPAA encourages young members to participate in AA’s General Service structure and engage in service work to help other alcoholics.​
